You Own Everything We Build — Here's Why That's Not Normal and Why It Should Matter

If you've ever fired a marketing agency and lost your website in the process, you already understand what I'm about to say. If you haven't been burned yet — read this anyway, because it happens constantly in the trades.

Most agencies build your digital assets inside their accounts. Your Google Ads campaign lives in their manager account. Your website sits on their hosting. Your Facebook Business Manager is connected to their agency profile. When the relationship ends — or when they ghost you after month three — you don't get to take any of it with you. You start from zero. Again.

That's not an accident. That's leverage. And it's one of the main reasons I started Bizinabox differently.

What "Client Owns Everything" Actually Means

When Bizinabox builds something for you, it goes in your name, under your accounts, from the first day. That means:

  • Your website is hosted on a domain you own and registered yourself (or that we register in your name). We don't hold it.
  • Your Google Ads account is a real account under your business email. We get manager access — not the other way around.
  • Your Google Business Profile is verified under your email. We are listed as a manager, not the owner.
  • Your Meta ad account sits inside your Business Portfolio. We request access. You can revoke it in 30 seconds.
  • Your AI agent workflows, automations, and CRM data — documented and exported to you. Not locked in a proprietary system we control.

If we stop working together tomorrow, you keep everything. You can hand the keys to another vendor, a nephew who knows WordPress, or just let it sit. That's your call, not ours.

Why Most Agencies Do It the Other Way

I'll be honest with you: the lock-in model isn't always malicious. Sometimes it's just how agencies were built — they set up a central account structure to manage thirty clients at once, and individual ownership was never part of the design. Convenience for them became a liability for you.

But sometimes it's intentional. Churn protection. If you own nothing, leaving costs you everything you've built. According to a 2025 survey by Vendasta, 61% of small business owners reported losing at least one digital asset when switching marketing vendors — including websites, ad histories, and customer contact lists. That number is worse in the trades because trade business owners are often too busy running jobs to audit what they actually own until it's already gone.

In Austin, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Round Rock — I've talked to plumbers and HVAC guys who found out their entire Google Ads history was sitting in an agency's account with no way to retrieve it. Years of conversion data. Gone. That data isn't just a number. It's what tells the algorithm who your best customers are. Starting over costs real money.

How This Changes the Way We Work

Building in the client's name takes more setup time upfront. We walk you through creating accounts, verify ownership, and structure access correctly before we touch anything else. That first call sometimes runs long because of it.

It also means we can't coast. If you own everything and can leave anytime with zero friction, the only thing keeping you around is whether we're actually producing results. That's exactly the pressure we want on ourselves. It makes us better at the job.

For a plumber in Buda running two trucks, or a gate company in Georgetown scaling from residential to commercial, the last thing you need is to be stuck with a vendor because switching would cost you six months of built-up ad data and a website you can't access. You've got enough friction in your business already.

What to Ask Before You Sign With Anyone

Before you pay a single dollar to any digital vendor — agency, freelancer, AI ops shop, anyone — ask these four questions directly:

  • Who owns the domain, and under whose account is it registered?
  • Will I have owner-level access to my Google Ads and Meta accounts, or just manager-level?
  • If we stop working together, what do I walk away with and what do I lose?
  • Can I get a written statement in the contract confirming I own all creative, data, and accounts?

If they can't answer those questions clearly in under two minutes, you have your answer.

Ownership isn't a feature we built into Bizinabox because it sounds good in a blog post. It's there because I watched too many trade owners get gutted by vendors who built their business on someone else's foundation. Your business is yours. The digital side of it should be too.

If you want to talk through what a setup like this would actually look like for your shop — in Austin, San Marcos, Killeen, wherever you're running — reach out to Bizinabox. We'll show you exactly what you'd own before we ask for anything.

Need help with this for your business? We build it, set it up, and keep it running.
